Background
John is a current Masters student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at Colorado School of Mines. He received his B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rice University, and subsequently worked as an environmental engineer at GSI Environmental in Houston, where he managed environmental remediation projects and researched PFAS in all their facets. In the Strathmann group, John is researching the effectiveness of hydrothermal alkaline treatment (HALT) to destroy environmental co-contaminants like petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents alongside PFAS. While he awaits the divine revelation that will make him enjoy mountain biking, John likes to read, bake, play tennis, and solve puzzles, among other geriatric hobbies.
