Background

Shijie (Moses) Leow is a Ph.D. student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Singapore NRF (EWT) Ph.D. Scholar, and is currently based at the Colorado School of Mines as a Research Associate. Moses is the first author of a 2015 Green Chemistry paper on the prediction of microalgae hydrothermal liquefaction products from feedstock biochemical composition. His research interests include: (i) the valorization of waste and renewable biomass streams (e.g., microalgae, aqueous organic carbon) through catalytic aqueous processing pathways for valuable products (e.g., hydrocarbon fuels, platform chemicals); and (ii) process design and modeling of microalgae bio-fuel systems and wastewater bio-refineries (production of valuable compounds with wastewater remediation).
