Shilai Hao (MS Fudan Univ) is joining the group as a PhD student. Shilai will be conducting dissertation research on the application of hydrothermal technologies for PFAS destruction.
Anderson Ellis joins the group as a MS thesis student, conducting research on improved ion exchange technologies for perfluoro- and polyfluoro-alkyl substances.
Andrew Koehler, PhD student, is awarded a prestigious NSF Graduate Fellowship.
Raul Tenorio wins a poster presentation award at the Emerging Contaminants Summit in Westminster, CO.
A paper authored by Xiangchen Huo, entitled “Ruthenium Catalysts for the Reduction of N-Nitrosamine Water Contaminants” is accepted for publication by Environmental Science & Technology.
A paper authored by Yida Fang, entitled “Mineral- and base-catalyzed hydrolysis of organophosphate flame retardants – A potential major fate-controlling sink in soil and aquatic environments” is accepted for publication by Environmental Science & Technology.
A paper entitled “Reductive Defluorination of Branched Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances with Cobalt Complex Catalysts” is accepted for publication by Environmental Science & Technology Letters.
Garrett McKay (PhD UC Boulder) joins the group as a postdoctoral research associate. Garrett will be conducting research on photochemical treatment and destruction of perfluoro- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in waste concentrate streams.
Boran Wu, a PhD student from Tongji University joins the group as a visiting scholar. Boran will conduct research on the hydrothermal conversion of wastewater biosolids.
A paper authored by Raul Tenorio, entitled “Impact of Growth Phases on Photochemically Produced Reactive Species in the Extracellular Matrix of Algal Cultivation Systems” is accepted for publication by Environmental Science: Water Research & Technology.
Daqian Jiang (DJ) leaves the group to begin a position as Assistant Professor in Environmental Engineering at Montana Tech. Congrats and good luck to DJ.
Timm will visit Hangzhou and Beijing, China in October to participate in a special symposium for ES&T Editors at the 9th National Conference on Environmental Chemistry (NCEC).
